American Kyuki-Do Federation (AKF)

Kyuki-Do was introduced to the United States in 1967 by Grand Master Ok Hyung Kim, a visionary martial artist whose dedication to discipline, character, and tradition laid the foundation for generations of students. Drawing from the strengths of Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Judo, Kyuki-Do was created as a well-rounded martial art one that develops both physical skill and personal integrity.

In 1979, Grand Master Kim established the American Kyuki-Do Federation (AKF) as the official sanctioning body for the art. The AKF ensures consistency in instruction, rank advancement, and ethical standards across affiliated schools nationwide. It serves as the backbone of Kyuki-Do in the United States, preserving the art’s core values while supporting the growth of martial artists at every level.

The AKF is more than an organization it is a legacy. It connects students and instructors through shared lineage, rigorous standards, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Through its leadership, Kyuki-Do continues to thrive as a martial art rooted in respect, perseverance, and the indomitable spirit.
